Saving lives through innovation
Our mission is to deliver innovative, accessible solutions that combine early detection with rapid, automated intervention for opioid-induced respiratory emergencies
By developing practical, closed-loop systems that work in both clinical and community settings, we aim to bridge the gap between timely recognition and life-saving action.
Founding Story
Rescue Biomedical originated from the collaboration of Purdue University professors whose expertise spanned biosensors, implantable devices, animal model evaluation, and wearable sensors. Together, they developed a drug delivery platform that combined these domains into an unified system. In discussions with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the urgent need for effective opioid overdose detection and treatment emerged as a critical application. A visit to an injection facility reinforced the magnitude of the problem and the market gap in timely, life-saving intervention. Motivated to address this need, the team founded Rescue Biomedical to create practical, real-world solutions that combat the opioid crisis.
Our vision
We are committed to making a profound impact by saving lives, ensuring timely intervention, and alleviating the strain on healthcare systems. Together, let us forge a future where opioid-related fatalities are a thing of the past, and individuals suffering from OUD can reclaim their lives. We envision advanced care for OUD beyond stigma and neglect, bringing it to the same level of quality, innovation, and urgency as other critical health conditions.
Our Core Values
Commitment
to Families & the Healthcare System
We are dedicated to keeping families together and preventing the tragedy of opioid-related mortality. By offering a lifeline to those battling addiction, we support both patients and their loved ones.
By saving lives, we also reduce the strain on the healthcare system; our solution aims to reduce emergency visits, hospitalizations, and long-term costs, allowing resources to be allocated more effectively.
Collaboration & Innovation
for a Better Future
Rescue Biomedical is committed to building partnerships with healthcare providers, government agencies, and organizations to drive meaningful change in the fight against the opioid crisis.
We advance innovation by leveraging the latest technologies, clinical insights, and scientific expertise to ensure that our solution remains at the forefront of opioid overdose detection and treatment.
Advancement
in Opioid Overdose Detection & Treatment
At Rescue Biomedical, we have developed A2D2, a disruptive solution designed to revolutionize the response to opioid overdose emergencies through real-time detection and treatment.
A2D2 continuously monitors vital signs and instantly alerts users and emergency responders in the event of an overdose, enabling rapid intervention when every second matters.
